This painting on Jonah and the whale is a mural painted by Jeanne Egan
in the BVMC youth room.
 |
The story of Jonah and the whale has always
been a favorite Bible story among the children. The story of Jonah
teaches all about the importance of being obedient to God. It is
with this story in mind that the younger children of the parish pray
and work towards being obedient children of God. Activities for
Jonah’s Journey include our Annual Halloween Party, Christmas
Pageant, Talent Shows, Crafts, Field Trips and much more! |

Jesus answered
them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not
only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you
say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it
will be done. – The Gospel of Matthew 21:21
As the children mature in their faith there is a need for them to
become more involved in the life of the parish. Moving Mountains is
for young teens to college age students. Moving Mountains will be an
experience that will teach the youth the importance of sharing their
faith with others. They will be called upon to do missionary work
and community service as well as being more involved in the
liturgical life of the parish and serving as role models to the
younger children of the parish.
